SENIOR PLANT MANAGER
Missssauga

Our client, one of North America’s largest privately owned companies within the CPG industry has retained PSG to source an experienced Plant Manager who is directly accountable for the effective operation and performance of a complex manufacturing facility. This position will ensure that the various plant operations perform efficiently to meet the plant goals and the overall goals of the Corporation. In this role, the Plant Manager will provide clear direction and leadership within a non-union plant through performance and metric reviews, action planning and continuous improvement execution. The Plant manager must maintain a clear focus on the tactical and strategic plans of this non-union facility and ensure that they are aligned with Corporate goals and objectives. This position collaborates with all cross-functional groups related to the manufacturing process. The Plant Manager is responsible for establishing and executing operating plans and objectives to assure a successful, quality finished product is delivered as planned from their facility.  This highly visible role is mapped out for succession planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for development and execution of operating budget and plans for the plant.
  • Assure highly efficient operations are established within Corporate and regulatory guidelines.
  • Achievement of annual safety, quality, customer service and cost targets.
  • Hands-on, visible and participative leadership of the plant at all levels
  • Create a high level of employee engagement.
  • Implement new strategies and lead change management to achieve continuous improvement mindset and practices. Ensure a robust continuous improvement process is implemented that prioritizes and delivers targeted results
  • Coordinate and collaborate with leadership at the Corporate level to develop and implement strategic initiatives for manufacturing. Develop execution plans, and allocate appropriate resources required in areas such as new item/product launches, new process implementation, and improving asset performance and capital investments.
  • Deliver products as planned to meet the commercial team's scheduled product launches, with planned margins at expected outputs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a plant management role in a non-union environment.
  • Strategic leadership – change agent with ability to develop competitive advantage.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical skills in food processing/GMP techniques, process improvements, and materials management.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to develop individuals and teams
  • Change management and thought leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
  • Manufacturing systems development and deployment.
