Our client, a Canadian success story who is an innovative manufacturer within the CPG industry has retained our firm to source an accomplished Plant Manager who is a very effective leader and visionary. The primary mandate is to direct and coordinate all activities related to the operation of their Mississauga facility. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting the product safety & quality system through providing the necessary resources and training to achieve product safety, quality and ethical sourcing objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety Requirements
- Conduct safety audits on a minimum annual basis
- Approve all objectives and targets in regards to Health and Safety and assign goals and objectives accordingly
- Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements associated with product quality, and consistency of product quality versus product specifications
- Coordinate utilization of equipment and personnel to effectively meet customer service requirements
- Ensure effective equipment and facilities maintenance for effective plant performance
- Development of short term plans and longer term strategies for effective utilization of plant capacity with changing business/customer demand
- Management of plant spending related control plant costs; identification, development, justification and implementation of cost savings projects
- Development of capital and manufacturing expense budget
- Development of capital plans and equipment selection to support new capacity, and new product requirements
- Development of plans to support new business/product initiatives
- Management and development of plant personnel to increase the long term organizational capability of the plant to deal with business demand and change
- Leads by example
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a packaging/food manufacturing environment
- Proven strong leader who is a big picture/lateral thinker
- Business savvy and understands the importance of setting goals and the steps required to achieve them
- Excellent at planning and facilitating
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Works effectively in a team environment – is visible and hands-on when necessary
- Good at building cross-functional relationships
- Ability to coordinate multifunctional teams.
- Computer literate, Microsoft office environment.
- Knowledge of applicable packaging/food industry Quality, GMP and Health and Safety regulations and practices.
