ASSISTANT MARKETING MANAGER

Our client, an innovative CPG manufacturing leader in their field has retained our services to source an Assistant Marketing Manager who play a pivotal role on a multitude of highly visible initiatives. As a key member of the business development team you will lead the execution of the launch of new marketing programs and materials for new branded initiatives.  Post launch you will be responsible to lead the growth of the business by executing on strategic brand initiativesThis pivotal role will offer excellent career potential along with personal growth to a top performer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead execution of launch marketing programs and materials
  • Develop all materials for Go to market programs
  • Develop and execution of national consumer communications and of promotional and merchandising materials.
  • Control placement of programs, POS, merchandising materials, etc. both online and bricks and mortar
  • Devise and implement promotional/merchandising activities to maximize sales and achieve divisional objectives
  • Lead the commercialization of the new product skus
  • Manage packaging development with brand owners and corporate packaging specialist.
  • Monitor consumer communications (complaints, requests).
  • Support the development of the annual marketing and channel/account specific plans.
  • Monitor performance of products/programs against plan and carry out changes to the plan if necessary to ensure that targets are achieved
  • Work with & develop activities which support sales activities,
  • Manage & monitor spending as approved in annual budget; minimize risk and ensure budget is not over-spent.
  • In conjunction with Field Sales, carry out channel competitive analysis of all competitive activities: products, materials, & pricing. 
  • Develop a research plan to support the innovation pipeline
  • Support channel in prepare divisional specific materials for training of the sales force related to trends and new offerings.
  • Develop category forecasts, working in conjunctions with sales, used for planning, manufacturing operations, and inventory control.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 years experience within marketing in a CPG environment
  • Experience with launching a multitude of products and initiatives
  • Strong project management skills - ability to manage timelines / deadlines
  • Strong ability to lead a cross functional team
  • Intellectual horsepower and broad business perspective
  • Strong presentation skills (both internal and external) and organizational capabilities
  • Capability to make business decisions and own responsibility of those decisions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience in the on-line marketing channel (move –up in priority)
  • Must have a can-do attitude with a bias to action and an ability to work within formal and informal business teams
